CHAPTER 11

HUNTER

She stripped out of her clothes in slow motion, and I froze, holding her dreamy gaze. First went the tank top, then the shorts, bra, and panties. Grace stood there bare, watching my dick rise into a full salute. I scanned her body, drinking in her curves and tanned flesh. Memories of her soft skin flooded my head. All the lonely nights I’d spent here, stroking my cock to the dreams of this moment, seemed like a waste. I should have done this before. I should have brought her here long ago.

She came forward and brushed her arm against mine before ducking under the showerhead. I shut my eyes and stepped underneath my own stream. Was this a mistake? Was I leading her on to a future that would never make her happy?

I jumped up at the touch of her hands over my back.

“Relax, Hunter. I’m just giving this bear back a scrub.”

Her hands stroked over my skin, her nails gently scraping down the neglected area and driving me mad. My blood rushed south. As her hands traveled lower, the shivers crawling up my spine made a U-turn and followed the path of her torturous touch. The long forgotten strokes circled over my skin and awakened a desire I fought to suppress. My balls zapped with urgency and my dick throbbed. She removed her hand, robbing me of her touch, but I could feel her still standing behind me. I turned around and faced her. It was just her and me, and thousands of lost moments I regretted.

A roar sounded from the outside, and Grace jumped into my arms, trapping my dick between us. Her soaked, soft body clung to my skin, testing my patience.

“What was that?” She shook in my arms.

“Likely a cougar.”

“Like a wild one?”

“No, they’re all trained from the zoo.” I snickered.

She slapped her hand against my arm and backed away, reading my eyes. “I’m serious. Has one ever broken in?”

“Yes, before I properly secured the home.”

She stepped closer, nearly touching me again.

“Did it attack you?”

“Did you not see the scar on my chest?” I pressed my palm over my heart, and she immediately removed my hand, searching for the wound. That was a mistake on my part. Her fingers raked through my trimmed chest hair, inflaming my arousal. Did she not notice she was rubbing up against me? I gripped her wrist, and she looked up.

“I’m kidding. I had a flare gun, and it left. No harm done.” I turned off my faucet. “Your water’s getting lukewarm. Better hurry.”

She cleared her throat and returned to her shower.

“Right—no harm done.”

I awkwardly turned the shower back on and washed in haste, finishing before she did. I wrapped a towel around my hips and scooped our clothes into the hamper. As Grace washed her hair, I set out the towels.

“I’ll wait for you on the bridge.”

She swept the water off her face. “Yeah, okay.”

On a night alone, the rainforest sang with chirping crickets and croaking toads. It helped me sleep.
