Chapter 7
Someone was playing with his hair. They were gently sweeping the long strands to one side.
Nathan shifted and opened his eyes.
“Morning,” Will said. “Didja sleep well?”
Nathan propped himself up on his elbows and looked down at Will’s broad chest. “Sorry,” he said.
“I didn’t mean to fall asleep like that.”
Will laughed. “I guess I make a good pillow," he said, running a hand over his chest.
“No way. You’re hard as a rock,” Nathan said.
“And you love it,” Will snapped. He grabbed Nathan by the arms and pulled him down into a rough kiss. “Admit it,” Will said.
Nathan scoffed. “Like hell I do,” he said.
Will slipped a hand between them and groped the bulge in Nathan’s pants. “Yeah? I guess someone hasn’t noticed how hard he is.”
The following moments where a blur of hands and clothes being flung across the room. It was fast and needy, but it felt amazing. It always felt amazing, Nathan realized. Not from the thrill of a new experience, or how attractive he found Will. That was a part of it, but the main reason was because it was Will.
“Wanna grab some breakfast?” Will asked after they’d cleaned up and found their clothes again.
Nathan laughed and agreed. He found the transitions Will had between fooling around and slipping back into his day without missing a beat to be pretty amusing. He followed Will down to the dining hall. They’d woken up early enough for the pancakes to be fresh and the tables to be clear.
“So how much homework do you have?” Will asked. He slid his tray down the rails and grabbed a bowl of cubed cantaloupe as he spoke.
“Not much. I have a couple quizzes coming up, but they’re in easy classes,” Nathan replied. He frowned at the bowls of fruit. There should’ve been strawberries, but the area they usually occupied was empty.
“Two easy classes? Nice.”
“Mm-hmm,” Nathan said. He looked up and saw a man in an apron halving strawberries. Several filled bowls sat next to him so Nathan spoke up. “Excuse me. Can I have one of those bowls of strawberries?”
The man turned around and time stopped.
It was him. Tall as he was wide, thinning grey hair and one mean squint. It was the man Nathan had called a “hottie” during truth or dare. The man grabbed one of the bowls with one hairy hand and paused. He gave Nathan a long look before handing the berries over.
Nathan’s reply was several octaves higher than he intended. “T-thank you.”
The man gave Nathan another lingering scowl before he turned away.
Nathan dropped the berries on his tray and resisted the urge to run to the cashier where Will was waiting for him. The bastard could barely keep a straight face.
“I hate you,” Nathan said through gritted teeth after he paid for his meal.
Will laughed. “Oh man. I thought I was gonna lose it right there.”
“I really hate you.”
“Hey, why don’t we sit over here? You’ll have a great view of your lover.”
“I. Hate. You.” Nathan stormed off to the far corner of the cafeteria while Will’s laughter echoed behind him.
