Everyone laughed loudly as Landon’s face turned a bright shade of red and he glared accusingly at Micah. It was funny seeing the ex-Navy SEAL nearly panic as he rushed to explain.
“I’m sorry,” Micah said as he threw his arm around his fiancé. “You know I would have never intentionally told that story to anyone, it just accidentally slipped out.”
“If it helps, it really was an accident,” Micah’s best friend, Giovanni, added. “We were at the gym together and some guy tripped on his shoelace and nearly fell. I started laughing and Micah told me to stop because he knew how embarrassing that could’ve been for the poor guy. Of course, I forced him to explain his comment and that’s how it all came out.”
“Of course, it was no accident when Gio raced home and shared the story with me,” Caleb said with a cheeky grin.
“Or when Caleb called and told me what had happened and I passed it along to Ryan,” Carter added with a laugh. That was something that I never had in my life and as wonderful as it was to see, it was equally as painful because it was a glaring reminder that I was an outcast.

I hoped they understood how lucky they were, although the way they looked at their soulmates told me that they probably did.
My eyes swept over the crowded bar. Carter and Ryan had rented out the back room for our party, but from where I was sitting, I could see the crowded dance floor as well as the bartender who stood behind the long wooden bar, pouring someone a shot of whiskey. My mouth watered at the sight and my hands clenched in my lap. I took a
