Expanding Our Approach

Many of us on this journey of rebuilding beautiful are recovering from the impact of great suffering. We are on the other side of an encounter with one of the greatest mysteries of life: pain. We thought we had it all figured out, and we thought we knew exactly how things would pan out—but here we are in a completely different reality. When our hearts were ripped open, so were our eyes. We will never be the same or see the same. Retreating to the past isn’t an option; forward is the only way to go. To work toward the beauty of what could be, we must welcome what is and walk through it courageously.

As we consider how to engage, expand, or deepen our relationship with God here in this new life, maybe it’s time to approach faith differently. In my journey of rebuilding beautiful, practices of contemplation, centering prayer, and meditation on Scripture have all been greatly healing in my approach to faith.
