My rational side whispered that this wasn't wise, maybe a colossal mistake even, yet the pulse of desire surged through me. Laura was off-limits. I couldn't risk anything jeopardising my relationship with my daughter. Turning to Tanya seemed like a two-birds-in-one-stone scenario.

Remaining in my office, I attempted to lose myself in a crime thriller, a futile effort to distract from Laura and Maja being home together. I needed to spend time with my daughter, but at the same time, this forced proximity with Laura would eventually drive me insane.

If I didn't get laid tonight, I was going to be irritable all weekend. Sam's face flashed through my head. Maja kept asking about her mother. She knew that I didn't like talking about her, so she talked to my mother instead. Mum did tell her a few things about Samantha and it was only natural that my daughter was curious.

I wasn't supposed to feel guilty about my decision, but here I was, wondering why I had such a huge issue starting another relationship with a woman. I was too afraid of being burned again.

Around eight, I changed into more casual clothes and then jumped into my car. Laura was aware that I had to work late. Later on, I would get home, talk to her for a bit, and then she would go home none the wiser that I’d fucked someone else tonight. I just had to make sure that I didn't accidentally fuck her roommate.

Jason drove me to Elm Street. Tonight felt uncomfortable and for some reason, unfamiliar. This had been my routine for months and yet, I couldn't stop thinking about Laura again. Maybe Tanya could help me forget about my little stunt with the nanny.

"Sir, Miss Johnson is here to see you," Jason informed me as I waited in the living room.

I flexed my knuckles and took deep breaths.

"Let her in. Thank you, Jason," I replied, and he nodded.

Tanya approached, looking stunning in a fitted red dress and high heels. I ushered her in, and Jason closed the door behind her.

"Hello, Prime Minister. I'm glad you called. I thought you might've grown tired of me," she greeted, entering my place that felt more like a dark realm. Tanya exuded beauty, her chocolate-brown hair cascading down her bare arms. She oozed sophistication, too. Women working for Emperor were never cheap. Her scrutinising dark eyes met mine as I released a ragged breath.

"Let's skip the small talk. Go upstairs and get naked, Tanya," I commanded, feeling oddly on edge. She ran her hand over my shoulder, flashing a smile before swiftly walking up the stairs. I flexed my fingers, recalling Laura's deep green eyes that had stared right through my soul.

"She's your fucking nanny, nothing else and nothing more," I reminded my pathetic self, even when I desperately wanted Tanya to become Laura. Several minutes later, I rushed to the bedroom, opened the door, and stepped inside.
