A fish eye or wide-angle lens is ideal for this type of photography as it enables photographers to frame the entire building within its environment. Sometimes, panoramic view becomes the best way for the photographers when they cannot encompass the whole scene.

Night shots can be very dramatic and atmospheric too. Take photos when there is still some light and color left in the sky as it adds tone to the backdrop and help to illuminate details. Use a wide aperture and long exposure.

Cityscapes

The positioning is pretty important to get a wonderful picture of cityscapes. Find a spot that shows off all the buildings and office or residential lights which are lit. Use tripod for capturing such images. Use the AV (Aperture Priority) mode and use f/8 and upwards for a greater depth of field.
