Chapter Six

It was late when Omar returned to his room. Kahl was already fast asleep, curled adorably around a pillow. Omar stood at the edge of the bed as he gazed at his mate and wondered how any one being could love another as much as he loved Kahl. How could one heart contain such a strong and overpowering emotion?

“Stop watching me sleep,” Kahl said, his eyes still closed. “It’s weird.”

A smile blossomed on Omar’s face. “It’s not weird that I like watching you.”

Kahl rolled onto his back and reached for Omar, and Omar went gladly. He curled into the shifter’s strong arms and knew there was no place safer. Kahl spooned him as he rested his chin on Omar’s head.

“You talk to Steele?”

Boy, had Omar gotten the shock of his life when he found out how Steele had laid that egg. “Yes, and before you ask, I’m not telling. Your dad swore me to secrecy.”

And even if Steele hadn’t, there was no way Omar would tell his mate how a baby dragon was born. He just… Oh god. Omar felt queasy.

Kahl pulled Omar’s collar aside as his warm lips traveled sensually across his shoulder. “I have ways of making you talk.”

“I won’t break my promise, but don’t let that stop you from interrogating me.” Omar shivered and then groaned. “And don’t use kid gloves. Let me have it, big boy.”

“I’ve been trained by the best.” Kahl licked a path to the nape of Omar’s neck and then gently bit down. “I’ll have you singing like a canary.”

“You could try.” Omar rolled over and tapped Kahl’s chest. “Do you always interrogate people while nude?”

Kahl wiggled his brows. “Just you, handsome.”

Omar gasped when Kahl shoved his shirt up and sucked a nipple into his mouth. His mate’s moist tongue lashed at his skin, sending sizzling sensations throughout Omar’s body. He arched into the shifter as Kahl worked his way over to the other nipple, teasing the hardened bud between his teeth.

He curled his fingers into Kahl’s hair, yanking at the strands, trying to pull his mate as close as possible as he deliciously tortured Omar. “Tell me your interrogation skills involve more than just sucking my nipples.” Not that he wasn’t enjoying what Kahl was doing to him, but he wanted to tease the shifter, push him to go further, to unleash himself on Omar.

Omar felt a hard tug and then heard fabric ripping. He gasped as Kahl tore his shirt off. “Hey, that was one of my favorite shirts.”

“All is fair in interrogation. If you favor those pants, I suggest you get them off in a hurry.”

Omar gazed at Kahl for a second before he wiggled his way out of his pants and then threw them aside.

“Underwear?”

Omar smirked. “If you’d bother to look, I’m not wearing any.”

Kahl’s gazed lowered as a soft and rumbling growl vibrated through his chest. “I love how you shave down there.”

“Really?” Omar said while crawling back into the bed. “Because you didn’t notice the last time we had sex.
