Chapter 12

We've been at the mansion for a week now, and everything has calmed down. Axel has been keeping to his promise and hasn't caused trouble. He's been quiet around the guys, but with Jen and me, he's pretty funny and a real flirt. We can tell he isn't serious, he's just playing around, but until Dare and Mosey chill and talk to him, we keep this side of him a secret.

Mosey and I are getting closer to each other. And I don't just mean emotionally. We haven't slept together, but I know I want it to happen; it’s just a matter of when. We haven't been a couple for long, we've known each other for months, but it feels like years.

I never thought I'd be okay sleeping with someone. I thought for sure that part of me was ruined, but being with Mo has showed me how wrong I am. Everything works fine; it's just my mind having problems. What I need to do is tell Mosey everything.

"You always smell like oranges." He sniffs my neck.

I giggle and turn over on my side. "So you have a citrus fetish, huh?"

He peeks up at me, hair in disarray and eyes dark. "No, I have a Hayley fetish. Can't get enough of you."

I lean down and kiss him. It was supposed to be quick so I can get ready, but he grabs onto my hips and pulls me down on top of him. We stay like that for an hour, kissing and being lazy. It's the first time we've just laid in bed, talking and kissing with no hurry.

Finally, he releases me, and I get ready for the day, braiding my hair to keep the mess out of my way. "Don't sleep too long," I warn before heading down the hall.

Last night I discovered the library in the back of the house. I didn't have time to explore it, and since we aren't leaving for a bit, I decide to go in now. I reach the large wooden door and push it open. All the walls are covered in shelves with so many books, they are tumbling over each other.

A large couch and desk are in the middle of the room, books also sitting atop them. I stop by the couch and look up. The ceiling is curved at the top, and the clear glass allows the natural light to come in. "Wow," I mumble to myself.

I walk over to one of the shelves and peek at the spines. Some are so old I can't read the titles anymore, while others are newer, unopened.

One section is entirely poetry while another is the classics, or romances. So many books, it's like I've died and gone to heaven. As I'm walking by another shelf, a large black book catches my attention.

A photo album.

Curious, I take it off the shelf and sit down on the couch. Written in gold calligraphy on the cover is memories. I flip it open to the first page and smile.
