Kerry leaned back against the wall and sipped the dark amber liquid in his glass. His eyes never left the large screen on the wall even as he heard the others curse and exclaim over what he and Garret had discovered.

When they added the missing or killed from the Ucathya Tribe, the pattern on the map became even more apparent. Three of the suspected hunter locations had been within two blocks of a disappearance of a vampire. Kerry was betting that those places were actual locations and no longer on the suspected list.

While Electus Luca Ucathya and his brother and lieutenant Manu arrived, Garret had plugged in the information Kerry requested. By the time they had everyone secured in the war room, they were ready to show their results. Kerry was not surprised by the shock he could hear. He was angered that they had all failed to see this pattern before now. It might have saved a few lives.

“Do you think that Roman or Jesse could be at one of these locations?” Manu asked as he walked over to the sideboard close to Kerry and poured himself a drink.

“It’s very possible,” Kerry replied. “We’ve already established that the hunters have a location within two blocks of almost every major business or paranormal apartment building in the city. It’s what’s outside the city that worries me. Not many of our people leave the city so there aren’t a whole lot of locations we have any awareness of.”

Manu turned to look at the screen, his jaw clenching so hard that Kerry heard it. “We’ve been tracking Kalle Dane’s financials for a while now. I’d like to see your map with an overlay of his credit card transactions and the places we know he owns. I’m betting that it would give us even more locations.”

Kerry turned to look at the tribe lieutenant. “How soon can you get it to me?”

“A couple of hours at the most,” Manu replied. “I have it at home on my laptop. I’ll e-mail it to you just as soon as I get back.”

Kerry nodded. As much as he hated it, he knew he had to wait. The information wouldn’t get to him any faster by getting frustrated, and his level of frustration was just about tapped out. “The sooner the better,” he added just to be clear.

“I hear you,” Manu said.

And Manu was probably one of the few men that truly understood how freaked out Kerry was right now. Manu’s mate had been kidnapped and tortured, barely surviving until Manu could rescue him. Azizi still bore the scars of his captivity and always would.

But he had survived and Kerry just had to hope that Jesse was as strong as Azizi and would stay alive until Kerry could find him. And he would find him. Kerry wouldn’t stop looking until he had his mate back in his arms.

“Kerry!”

Kerry’s gaze snapped up when his alpha called out to him. “Yes, sir?”

“There’s some sort of disturbance down on the lobby.
