Colby
Colby didn't stir all night, dead to the world. When he awoke the next morning, he felt warm and safe, and the most rested since he'd moved into the house. He was so snug and comfortable that he didn't want to move, though his eyes flew open as the pillow he was snuggling against moved.
It was no pillow but Declan.
“Good morning,” Declan greeted with a sleepy smile.
Right! He'd asked Declan to stay over! They were sharing the same bed...
And everything was perfect.
Colby relaxed, letting out a breath across Declan's chest. “Good morning,” he murmured in kind as he stretched a little, then tensed again. There was absolutely no way that Declan didn't know that Colby's morning wood was pressed against his hipbone.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Yeah, actually. I think that's the best sleep I've had in ages. Certainly since I've moved here,” Colby admitted. He craved stroking Declan's firm, muscular chest. He wanted to sweep his fingers along those incredible pecs and along that six-pack. Declan was stunning. So strong, yet so caring.
“Oh, shoot! I gotta get to work!” Colby exclaimed as he bolted upright in bed. He lunged at his jeans on the floor and rooted through his pockets until he found his phone. 9:15AM. He was already fifteen minutes late for his shift.
“You do what you gotta do,” Declan said as he sat up and started getting dressed himself. “Don't let me keep you. I'll just let myself out, all right?”
“Okay,” Colby breathed, though halted as his eyes caught Declan's. He didn't even have to think about it, his body propelling him toward the other. He hopped up onto his toes and kissed Declan. “Thanks again.”
“Anytime,” Declan said with a smile as he returned the peck on the lips. When Declan ran his hand down his back, Colby quivered. It took everything he had not to let himself get distracted by jumping Declan. To put it simply, being around Declan made him think about sex a whole lot more than he was used to.
“I've got to shower,” Colby said, flustered now by his thoughts. “I'll text you later.”
“All right. If you ever need someone to just keep you company, don't hesitate to ask,” Declan said as he moved for the doorway. His concern was so sweet and made Colby's heart want to explode.
“I won't,” he promised, the smile on his face so bright that he felt ridiculous.
As soon as Declan finally slipped from the room, Colby rushed to the master bathroom to take a cold shower to start the day.
