Cats

The 2016 survey of the American Pet Products Association estimates there are just shy of 86 million pet cats in the US alone.[1] Now multiply that number by the amount of canned food, bags of kitty litter, toys, and vet trips required for each of those cats … every single year. That’s a big eco-paw print.

There are ways to lower your cat’s impact on the environment but they need to be introduced slowly to guarantee success. Some felines can be notoriously fussy when it comes to smell, taste, and texture, whether that’s food or kitty litter, and they don’t always take well to sweeping changes.
