Chapter Six

Graig stared over the maps pointing out the few they’d already searched as Ciarán looked over his shoulder. Having the human so close, but not quite ready yet, was driving him insane.

Ciarán had been putty in his hands earlier, but he’d sensed a fear still flickering underneath. It could be Ciarán’s inexperience causing it, but it could be something else entirely. Graig wanted to be sure there was nothing standing between him and his human when they lay together for the first time.

Graig’s mouth watered to taste every inch of Ciarán’s body.

Ciarán leaned in and pointed out something on the map. “What about the vaults here?”

“What vaults?”

“They’re ancient and from what you told me—I believe they’d have been in use during the time of your book. The archdiocese still maintains them to a point, but they’re in near ruin and closed to the public. They’re often left chained up because of their state, so we might need to get a caretaker to come out and open the gates.”

A tremor raced up Graig’s spine, his gut telling him Ciarán’s find might be one of interest. Graig grinned. “Or I break the chain and we sneak in.”

“You have papers from the Church allowing you to search, so why sneak in?”

“Where’s your sense of adventure?” Graig asked. When Ciarán lifted one brow, he continued. “I don’t know if our papers would allow us into an ancient site not open to the public. I don’t feel like waiting months to get a new set of papers from the church. The bureaucracy of the Church of Ireland is mind-boggling.”

“I don’t like the idea,” Ciarán answered.

“We’re only there to search for symbols. We won’t disrupt anything.”

“We’d have to go after dark. How would we see anything?” Ciarán asked. “It’s pointless.”

“I have perfect vision, night or day. And I could obtain a pair of night vision goggles for you.”

Ciarán sighed. “You promise not to disrupt anything?”

Graig turned his chair so he could face the human. He lifted one hand to his heart and two fingers on the other hand. “Scout’s honor.”

Ciarán sighed again. “Fine, we sneak.” A small smile played over Ciarán’s lips, and the human tried to hide it.

“I saw that,” Graig said, tugging the man into his lap.

Ciarán fell into his embrace, his legs straddling Graig’s hips.

Graig immediately growled, the feel of Ciarán’s hardening cock too much for him. He clasped the back of the human’s head and planted his lips on Ciarán’s mouth, as hungry as he’d been back at the church. Ciarán was just as needy, matching each stroke of Graig’s tongue with one of his own.

Ciarán’s hands wandered under the edge of Graig’s t-shirt and he spread his palms along Graig’s muscled chest. Graig clenched those muscles, tightening against the feel of the priest’s touch. Peeling off that t-shirt, he was quick to pull Ciarán back against him and recapture those sweet, sweet lips.

The human’s hands touched him all over, caressing his flesh. Graig tested him and let a little of the shift course over his flesh, making his scales lightly appear.
