I am pacing back and forth, she finally pics up the third time, my heart does that drum roll, more to do with hearing her voice and less to do with the tension I am feeling now. I check the phone wondering if it's disconnected because there is absolute silence from the other side, after a second, a voice speaks “Plastic boy?”

“Of course it is me. Listen, I am asking you to come with me to an event tonight, I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't important, I have to attend this event and I have one more ticket, I cannot go alone because my aunt will think my brother bailed, which he did in the last moment for a meeting at his stupid office, it will hurt her and Vicky is out of town at a moment like this and now I am left with the only choice, please don't say no, you will have a good time I promise.”

“Whoa calm down plastic boy! What event are you talking about, what tickets? Cricket? I am not into cricket really and why will your aunt be upset?”
