7 Summary

As illustrated, PMCT can perfectly be used for the evaluation of bone fractures, identification of spaces of accumulation of fluid or gas as well as the location of foreign, specifically metallic, objects. As for external changes and soft tissues the use of PMCT is sometimes limited due to problems with body positioning and HU resolution. In cases of blunt force trauma, firearms, and sharp force injuries, application of PMCT has substantial impact on the quality of the post-mortem examination, and it helps with better documentation and presentation of findings. Furthermore, the administration of contrast medium can further increase diagnostic opportunities.
