Tip all of these people at the conclusion of your service. Tip the hair stylist and the barber in cash if paying cash, or add the tip to your bill or your credit card charge slip. The shampoo person should be tipped in cash.

Manicurists

Tip a manicurist 20% of your charge. If she’s squeezed you in, add another $1 or $2 for her trouble. Some spas make the gratuity part of the fee for a manicure or pedicure; ask the receptionist about this when you book. If the tip is included, nothing extra is necessary unless you’re very happy with the service—if you are, you may want to tip an extra $5 above the gratuity charge.

Give the manicurist the money at the end of the treatment. If you are paying cash, tip in cash. Otherwise, write in the tip on your credit card charge slip or on your room bill.
