HOME OF THE GODS

During the epoch of the ancient Greeks, the civilization has believed the Moon had been the abode of the pseudo goddess knew as Selene. The certain make-believe goddess was the sister of another fake god of the Greek culture knew as Helios. Legend has it whenever Selene would bathe in the cool, ocean waters, the pseudo goddess would don herself in perhaps a flowing Grecian robe, and Selene would ride across the atmospheric skies of Earth in a steely, like chariot. Of course, my favorite cultures, of which I enjoy studying the ancient Egyptians also had their theories regarding to the Moon. The ancient Egyptians colorful myths regarding to the Moon is how the celestial, heavenly object will journey across the ultramarine, blue heavens in celestial boat protected by the god with head of a bird knew as the Ibis–Thoth. Stands the reason why the ancient Egyptians view of Thoth, the admirable god had been too one, who had been somewhat well versed when regarding to the sciences, literature and above all wisdom. The Far Eastern culture is no exception regarding to the viewpoints of the Moon. According to the Far Eastern cultures, the Moon’s hilly ranges, and craters had been the makings of a giant, white hare. Even the other cultures of the Caribbean has their age, old legends surrounding the Moon. The islanders of Tahiti has maybe believed of how the “face,” of the Moon had been formed. The Moon’s “profile,” in accordance to the islanders was created by groves of a particular tree, all bearing fruit of which the trees seed of those

unbelievable deeds of Odin, and Thor: had assumed also according to the Germanic legends of the “man in the Moon,” had been some cabbage thief, who was vanished from Earth all because of the thief’s evil ways. A certain region of Africa knew as the southern area ,there is a legend of one knew as the myth of the Moon-Child. The myth tells of a story of a mighty chief, Bulane; a distinguishing person most of all because of an out of the ordinary sign on his full, left side of his breast–the shape of a full, round Moon. As the myth continues, the children of Bulane had all been born with the unusual sign, (a full Moon on one of their breasts), yet the offspring of Bulane would not be looked on as Moon-children. If one so happens to read all about Bulane, and his Moon-children, the particular chief Bulane would invariably seek out one of his Moon-children, the specific one, who had been carted away by slave traders. Besides the twice told tales of the Moon handed down perhaps one generation to another one through various “cultures,” men throughout time had woven baskets full of superstitions regarding the Moon.
