Using a Footer

1. After chain piecing or other stitching is complete, place a footer under the presser foot and sew to the end, stopping with the needle down just off the edge of the fabric.

Add a footer after piecing.

2. Clip the thread chain that joins the footer to the last piece stitched. Leave the footer under the presser foot with the needle down just off the edge. Now the footer becomes the header.
