Our time in the shed with Elaina was even better than I imagined it would be. She was already the center of my fantasies leading up to that night, but now that I had seen her in complete and total surrender to us – she was becoming the center of everything. She devoured my thoughts even more so than usual. I found myself obsessing over when we would have her again.

As Marco and I did our morning rounds of the ranch, we caught sight of her at the stables. She was saddling up a number of the horses for the other workers and grooming the ones that were staying behind at the barn. It was barely ten in the morning, and she was already working up a sweat.

I licked my lips as we watched her, remembering how the sweat beaded across her skin the night before for very different reasons. Then she effortlessly hoisted herself up onto one of the horses, and I spiraled even deeper into my flashbacks.

“I expected her to be more tired and sore after how heavy we went at her,” I commented to Marco.

“She’s a natural,” he replied under his breath, also watching her intently. He seemed to be lost in his own memories of last night.

As Elaina was taking the horse around the field, she caught us watching her. We were keeping our distance but were still close enough to see her cheeks turn pink at the sight of us. It was adorable to see her blushing like that. It gave me a warm, melting feeling inside that I had not felt in a long time. I wasn’t even so sure I ever really felt it for Martina in the same way.

We continued watching her from afar as she tried to ignore us and go back to work. She went about business as usual as if nothing ever happened. After taking several horses around, she came back and started inspecting each one of them. She was very thorough, always staying up to date on her examinations of the animals just to be sure she never missed anything new as it came up.

The week before she had told us about a sore she found on one of the horse’s’chestst. She was able to treat it right away, but if she hadn’t caught it when she did it could have gotten infected and become very serious. There was no doubt about it – she was good at what she did.

The longer we stood there, we could see a storm rolling in over the hills. The air took on a chill from it and the sky was turning dark with big ominous clouds. Rainstorms were common in the afternoons this time of year, but they had been especially brutal lately. Elaina and the stable boy started getting the horses squared away while Marco and I reluctantly went on to tend to other things around the ranch before the rain hit. I could tell he didn’t want to stop watching her any more than I did.
