4.4.3 A Global Network

The Rockefeller Foundation uses a cohort model to select cities, and they place every city in a global network striving to be resilient (Berkowitz, 2014). The Rockefeller Foundation has also established a platform of partners who support the resilience work in cities. This platform is where cities can identify unmet needs. The foundation can facilitate relationships and communication within the global network of partners who can provide tools and resources to meet unique needs (What Is The 100 Resilient Cities Platform of Partners?, 2015). Over 100 identified partners represent multiple sectors: not-for-profit, private, public, and non-governmental organizations (Our Partners, 2019).

The Chief Resilience Officer Network is an additional tool that cities have to break down barriers to solutions and to facilitate creative problem-solving. This network focuses on peer-to-peer networks that allow Chief Resilience Officers to share resources. One example of this is through global and regional summits that bring together leaders across the globe (Nelson, 2015).
