Ian

I was ten minutes early when I entered the parking lot. Nikita’s Honda was parked under a tree. Someone was even more eager for our meeting, I thought with a grin. It pleased me. I’d jerked off four times today. Might as well use my freedom before the cage I ordered earlier would arrive. Nikita still sat in her car when I got out and walked towards her. Something was off. I could feel it even before I saw her face. She had cried? I balled my fists. Whoever made her cry would have hell to pay. I took a deep breath before I opened her door. A tear rolled over her cheek when she looked up at me. I leaned in to unbuckle her and pulled her out of her car and into my arms. She sobbed at my shoulder. I felt helpless as I stood there, awkwardly stroking her back.

“It’s alright, baby,” I tried to soothe her. “I got you.”

When she had calmed down, I lifted her face and looked into her eyes.

“What happened?”

“Can we go somewhere?”

“Sure. Do you want to leave your car here?”

“No. I can’t stay here too long. Let’s drive to our forest?”

“Okay. I’ll drive your car and leave my BMW here. You are in no condition to drive right now. Get into the passenger seat.”

She nodded, and I let go of her. When we were both seated, I started the engine and drove off. Nikita was silent. She was looking out of the side window. She wasn’t ready to talk yet, but I would find out what the fuck happened. Probably her parents. They must have found out I had slept in her room. Did they beat her? I couldn’t see any obvious bruises, but she wore leggings and a long-sleeved shirt, so she could be hiding bruises under her clothes. The thought made me livid. I white-knuckled the steering wheel and I drove much too fast. I needed to calm the fuck down if I wanted to help my girl.

We reached the little clearing where I had parked the last time. I parked in the same spot, turned the engine off, and turned to Nikita. She, too, turned and looked at me. Reaching out with one hand, I palmed her cheek. She leaned into my touch, sighing.

“You want to talk here, or would you like to go for a walk?”

“Let’s walk,” she said.

“Okay.”

I let go of her and unbuckled my seatbelt. She did the same, and we both got out at the same time. I walked around the car and took her hand. It was a mild evening. Still, she shivered.

“Are you cold? Do you want my jacket?”

“No, it... it’s not the cold.”

We walked on a narrow path into the forest. I was unsure what to do. Should I wait until she was ready to talk? Or should I ask her what happened?

“I can’t go back,” she finally spoke.

“Trouble with your folks?”

“Yeah.”

“What happened?”

“They sat me down after school. They had heard us whispering this morning, so they knew that I had a boy over.
