CHAPTER ELEVEN

Dov stopped in the doorway. There were no two ways about it, he was a lucky fucker. Kane was pulling his shirt over his head covering all of that pretty, pretty skin. Dov was going to get to see that for years to come. He wanted what his parents had, and he had high hopes for the two of them. And he really wanted Kane to take off those pants, not zip them up.

Once they got all of the accident stuff out of the way maybe they could have sex again. This time with Kane pounding away in him. He bit his lip to contain the moan. They had work to do first. He needed to get his saddle bags anyway. He had a couple of outfits in there, nothing fancy, but better than the battered clothes he was wearing now. His shirt had the faint hint of Kane on it so he might never take it off.

And that is the end of teenage girl thoughts.

“Ready?” Kane asked.

Dov nodded. The hope was they had something in common, but fate couldn’t be that cruel. To have him get banged up in order to meet his mate only to have them hate each other. But they could work on that—after more sex.

Kane led them out of the house and neither of them said anything when Kane grabbed his keys off of the floor. Maybe Dov could show a little more finesse next time they had a bit of fun, but that first time had been so primal and all about the need to claim what was his. It was very unlike his human self to feel that way because for the most part he considered himself to be a laid back kind of guy. Someone who could roll with the punches, but bring a mate into the pictures and it was him running on instinct.

The jeep was just where they left it. A snazzy little black thing that was—small. He hadn’t noticed that before. Of course he had been too busy trying his best to control his little head. It was still a struggle because he hadn’t had enough of Kane.

Dov got in and waited for Kane. He didn’t have long before his mate started talking. Kane did like to talk. It was more of a ramble, like he was nervous. Dov wanted to touch, but figured that would only ramp things up and they were headed into town. It was going to be hard enough to control his pheromones with others in the vicinity.

“The mechanic is in Union. About eleven minutes away. We can pick something up to eat while we’re there. We have a sub place, a pizza place plus a few other things. We also have this place called Flipdaddy’s. It’s burgers and beers. Most things are only about ten minutes to twenty minutes away from the house. The clinic is about twenty minutes away—”

“I thought we’d talked about—”

Kane held up a hand to stop him.

“I’m not taking you there, just giving you the lay of the land.
