Budding Small Citations*

Of twisted fibrils, brackish

utopian microcosm—the street

where the genetic message undergoes

continual and rapid changes, and

scholarly writing here is a living

ecosystem that accumulates and flourishes

as authors share, inherit, and filter-

feed on textual debris: thus

diasporic communities of many kinds

command primary loyalties

among populations that may exist within

various national boundaries,

and multiple successive daughter cells

can appear from one locus

of the mother cell.
