Fabrics/trims

• Check the chosen kimono fabric (a loosely woven hemp) width. The kimono will be large and oversized, so if the fabric is not wide enough, where to seam it will be important to note. To arrive at the right support materials, various underlinings, buckrams, and fusibles were tested with the raffia fringe to give the the collar and obi the right weight.

Flat sketches

• Draw out flat sketches with construction and seaming details, adding swatches of the self and support fabrics.
