Clyde and Mrs. Kim leave about two hours later, as said. He explains that they might be quite late as he has some work-related things to attend to. That is a justifiable reason for him being late. He comes back towards evening and seems to be in a good mood. That at least makes me happy.

He comes to me and kisses me squarely on the lips, then turns to Mrs. Kim, who is watching with a smile. I am too dazed to think or wonder what is going on.

"Bring it in," he says simply.

She nods and steps out of the room for a bit. She comes back shortly, wheeling in a hanger with dresses hung everywhere. Has Clyde bought the whole store?

Clyde turns to me with a curious expression. You can tell that he is excited. He holds my chin up and says in a calm, refreshing voice.

"Time to dress up, Clem."

I am not sure how to wrap my head around that request or what it will mean to my person, my body. Nevertheless, I find myself unable to decline. Besides, I have been so excited lately, nor will I have dared to say no. Or maybe I needed the distraction. I certainly can use it. But deep down, I know it is more than that. The truth is a part of me just can't say no to Clyde.

The atmosphere is tense thanks to Clyde, who probably has more sophisticated plans for me that evening.

I am excited but scared to admit it.

"Mrs. Kim here is a trained fashion expert. She's gonna turn you around for the evening. I am making her do it at home specifically for you; I want you to feel comfortable," he explains.

"Aren't you adorable?' Mrs. Kim smiles at me, and I blush visibly.

Clyde observes, standing for a minute, then he takes a seat in his favourite armchair in the living room and watches the exchange between me and Mrs. Kim. I am so nervous; Mrs. Kim can read my mind.

'Nervous?' Mrs. Kim asks.

'No... Okay, maybe a bit,' I admit.

She giggles and puts her hands on both my shoulders as I watch her through the mirror.

'Just... Do what I say, and you'll be fine.' Mrs. Kim advises.
