A truism in the military is that someone always doesn’t get the word. Despite the checkpoint having been cleared and approved with adjacent commands and units, the gentleman in the center had not gotten the word and was most unhappy about it. So much so, that I actually filmed part of it, being in turns amused (ineffective intimidation despite his size) and concerned (words and tone). The upshot was that rather than go with the approved position, the decision was made to move the checkpoint a short distance to one almost as good, but clearly over the “border,” so that work could continue without a turf war. Such is modern war.
