Killian: Get out here now!
âWhat the hell do you think youâre playing at?â Killian fumed at me in the darkness. I had managed to sneak past Vinnie who was standing at the door of the pub, talking to a group of people who had gone outside to smoke. Iâd known as soon as I saw the message there was no point in trying to ignore my husband. He would cause a problem if he had to and I didnât want the boys to know he was here.
âPlease be quiet, Killian.â I pleaded and moved towards him in the darkened, cobbled street.
A scuffle of feet on the ground nearby, alerted us both to another personâs presence. Killian wrapped his hand around my elbow and walked us both into the nearby alley way, that ran alongside the pub.
âDonât you tell me what to do woman. You lost any right to do that the second you left me for dead and ran into his arms. I should drag you away and deal with you now, you double crossing bitch!â his hand shot out and rested on my chest. He walked forwards, forcing me to walk backwards, further into the alley.
âDid you read my letter?â I asked, as my back hit the bare brick wall and his hand dropped to his side.
âOf course, I read your letter. You obviously donât know me very well if you believed I would fall for that, even for a second. You fucking shot me!â he spat, venomously.
âYou told me to!â I tried to keep my voice low.
âWhat you did was not part of the plan.â he snarled, stepping into my personal space.
âI didnât have a choice donât you see that? It wouldnât have worked otherwiseâ I reached out and smoothed his hair back from his face, where it had fallen into his eyes, an attempt to pacify him. âNobody would have believed you would just let me walk away with the boys, mo rÃ.â
âIt didnât work anyway!â he shot back, angrily.
âYouâre my life Killian, you always have been.â I kept going, moving my hands down to his chest and holding them there. I slipped one newly manicured finger between the two top buttons of his shirt. A simple move that rarely failed to distract him. My long red nails had always been a turn on for him.
âDonât attempt to play me, you lying little slut!â he snarled, grabbing both my hands in his and squeezing. My usual tactics werenât working, he was too far gone.
âI was always coming back to you, just as we planned.â I told him truthfully. I had always intended on going back, just for different reasons than I wanted him to believe.
âYouâre lying.â he snapped again, but there was a flicker of uncertainty. Something Iâd said had registered with him and I latched onto that doubt.
âNo. I swear to you Iâm not. I love you, Killian. Coming here was never about him. It was about us, laying our ghosts to rest. Iâm coming home.â I wasnât above begging.
