Similar in nature to the forward lunge, the side lunge mimics the movement of a forward lunge but in a lateral direction rather than forward. This will ensure that the groins (adductors and abductor) are worked, in addition to those listed for the forward lunge.

Stiff-legged Deadlift
The stiff-legged deadlift works the gluteals, hamstrings and the back (the erector spinae). Starting in an upright position with the bar on the thighs, slowly lower the bar to the floor. The back should remain straight throughout, and the head should continue to look forward. The bar should stay close to the shins, and should not touch the floor.
