‘Is it true that you were estranged from your husband on the night of Isabella Rychtar’s death?’ Katrina Holmes asked.

‘On the night they both died, yes. We were driven apart by the pressure she was putting on our marriage. I was living at our apartment and Heath was staying with his best friend.’

‘So are you saying she tore your marriage apart? That was the only reason for the separation?’

‘As Princess Diana said, Katrina, it is hard to function with three in a marriage.’

Katrina smiled.

‘But if your husband was solely devoted to you, then there would have been only two in the marriage, is that correct?’

‘Correct. But what would you do if your ex-partner, someone you once cared about …’

Katrina attempted to cut in. Catherine continued.

‘If that person was ringing you and saying, ‘I am going to kill myself if you don’t come over this minute’? What would you do? Would you go over? Surely most of us would. That’s an example of how we began to pull apart. When Heath would get out of bed to rush over to her place because she threatened to kill herself and he would find her there waiting in lingerie … it caused some strain.’

Catherine’s agent nodded at her from the studio wings.
