CHAPTER FOUR
Morgan found Roman to be a most pleasant surprise. He was so full of life and happiness that it was contagious. “So you want something to bring out your eyes or accentuate your square jaw?” He rambled as he kept running his fingers through Morgan’s hair and observing how it lay.
“I just want it cut. I’ve had too many years of it hanging in my face.” Morgan stared at his reflection and then glanced up to see the sadness in Roman’s expression.
“I’m sorry you weren’t rescued sooner. It must have been an awful experience.” Roman continued to comb Morgan’s hair in a soothing motion.
“Probably no worse than yours?” Morgan did not want to get into his experiences now. Nick was back in the medical wing and he did not want an anxiety attack now. He began his shallow breathing and focused on what Nick’s ass looked like in his tight faded blue jeans. There he felt better now. Roman quickly shook off his own bad memories and got back on task.
“How about I just do what I like and see if you like it?” With the big smile Roman gave him there was no way he would say no. “Sure have at it.”
It wasn’t long before Morgan was appreciating his reflection and giving Roman a solid thumbs up. “Looks amazing Roman you are an artist.” Roman took the compliments in stride and even gave a slight bow for his efforts. He was dusting off Morgan’s shirt and sweeping up the hair when Campbell came into the room and took a seat next to Morgan. Morgan had met him before, but they had not talked.
“Good job as always Roman.” Campbell stated and Roman once again gave a bow. Campbell then turned his attention to Morgan. “I was wondering if you feel up to talking with me about your time in the North Pack. Its part of your initiation and it is only to determine that you left no debt or grudge behind you. We at the Rue Pack demand complete loyalty and therefore we want to be sure you have no ties or leverage against you.” Campbell led Morgan out of the room after Roman set up another appointment to take place in a month’s time. Morgan was to be a steady client.
They walked together back to the back deck of the house and sat down beside one another and gazed out to the tree line beyond, it was a very idyllic location. Morgan had been apprehensive at first, but now was filled with peace. He did not feel threatened by the gorgeous Native American, but rather comforted. Campbell, for being a human, made an excellent Alpha Mate.
“I worked construction with my father until the day they took Owen and Harry away. I went to the Alpha, but he wouldn’t change his ruling. Our parents refused to fight for them, agreeing with Gregory that they were worthless. I became enough of a problem that he had me jailed.” Morgan took in a deep breath breathing in the fresh clean scent of woods and water.
