Chapter Eleven

I didn’t see Ashley until mid-morning the next day. He appeared in the gym wearing his usual work-out gear, but looking rather worse for wear. His hair hung limply in his eyes, which were ringed by dark circles.

“What the hell happened to you?” I asked, not pausing the treadmill I was jogging on.

“After dinner, Taylor and Benny insisted on dragging me out to a club.”

“Oh.” I smirked knowingly.

“There was a queue of guys at the bar buying drinks for us all night, which I didn’t mind particularly, but now I’m thinking that perhaps I shouldn’t have taken most of them up on their offer.”

“So, did you score?”

“If I did, I don’t remember,” he snorted.

“Maybe you finally topped.”

Ashley pulled a face.

“I sincerely hope not,” he said, scrubbing a hand over his face and yawning deeply. “I’d like to remember the first time. And hopefully do it with someone I like, not a random stranger.”

“Better hurry up and find yourself a boyfriend then,” I said. “You’ve only got a few months until you’re due film again.”

Ash grunted and reluctantly powered up the cross-trainer to start his own workout.

“I’d best get it over with, then,” he said. “Any chance you and I can…?” He waved a hand between us and grinned appealingly.

“Sorry, no.” I grinned. “We’ve not had the official talk yet, but I think Lysander and I may have moved into boyfriend territory last night.”

“Oh?” Ash’s grin faltered for a moment, before he chuckled. “Was it good?”

“Better than I expected,” I admitted. “Not that I was expecting the sex to be bad or anything, but…” I grinned sheepishly. “Well, afterwards, he told me he knew who I was. Apparently my caginess about my job made him curious, so he searched me online and kept digging until he found some results.”

Ashley laughed.

“I bet that was an interesting conversation.”

“He actually seemed to be okay with everything. I don’t think this is really going to affect us.”

“So he didn’t ask you to stop making films?” Ash asked, looking incredulous. “He’s okay with you sleeping with other people?”

“As long as it’s on a work-only basis, he seems to be okay, yes. I had to reassure him that everyone at the company is clean, but aside from that he seemed… excited about it.”

Ash raised his eyebrows.

“What if he wants you to do something really kinky?” He asked.

I laughed.

“I’ll say no, if I don’t want to do it,” I said, with a ‘duh’ tone. “But I don’t mind some of the kinky stuff. Guess it just depends on what he wants to try.”

Ash rolled his eyes and began his workout at a slower pace than usual.

By the time I’d finished my laps in the pool, Ash was barely half-way through his reps on the weight machines.

“For God’s sake, just give up,” I sighed, tugging him off the machine he was on. “Go and get a painkiller and spend the rest of the day on the sofa.”

“You’ll let me?” Ashley asked, looking surprised. “I only showed up because I thought you’d come and drag me out of bed if I didn’t show my face.
