Selina Monterrey is a great student of alchemy and the art of healing who is also interested in mechanics. By combining these she created a multifunction broom – it’s non-polluting and helps with the housework as well. An enviable invention!

1 Draw the base of your witch in blue pencil, in a relaxed position sitting on her broom.

2 Add the contour of the figure to your base in pencil to create volume and define the shape. A hard pencil is best for this. I use a 2H.

3 Work up the image with your pencil. Sketch the design to incorporate detail within the figure: I use a Pilot 05-calibre mechanical pencil to add volume and shape to the character.
