Chapter Twenty-Three

Crissy

It felt so good to be cradled against Rick’s chest. He carried me easily, out of the kitchen and toward the door I’d indicated was my bedroom.

Sliding into the darkened space, Rick nudged the door shut with his hip. He placed me on the bed, without the slightest tremble in his muscular shoulders. Eager to see him, I reached for my bedside lamp, flicking it on. Yet the flood of light chasing away the dim suddenly made me self-conscious, lying there with my jeans tangled around my ankles.

I blushed, folding in on myself a little, but Rick wasn’t having that. In a single fluid motion, he moved in front of me, kneeling between my legs.

“Now where was I,” he muttered, flashing me a rakish grin that managed to be sexy beyond belief. My desire had abated a little with our move to the bedroom, but seeing that grin made it flash right back to life.

With an urgency in his hands that made them no less gentle, Rick tugged my jeans and my panties off my ankles. He ran a finger up my calf, leaving a trail of shimmering heat behind it. Bringing both palms to my knees, he slowly pushed them open, so I lay there, exposed to him.

The heat in his gaze as he stared at my pink folds made my breath catch. He made a little growl deep in his throat, and slid his palms up my thighs. The rasp of his callused hands on my skin sent sparks shooting through my entire body. I moaned, the electricity pooling between my legs.

I thought Rick might tease me again, like he had in the kitchen, but it turned out, he didn’t want to waste any more time. He brought his mouth directly to my clit, enveloping it. His velvety tongue pressed into me, lighting every nerve on fire.
