Chapter 2

RAE

Rae often couldn’t decide if she found Hellfire interesting… or absolutely despicable.

It wasn’t her job to judge, though. No, her job was to follow Tallulah wherever she went that night, and it so happened that was Hellfire. Wherever she goes, her tits are coming out and she’s probably making out with someone right in front of me. Rae was numb to it. She swore it.

Hellfire. What an apt name.

The first time Rae came here, she assumed it was like any other nightclub. Although her coworker, a dour man who had been shadowing Tallulah for a year longer than Rae, warned her that it was a sex club… Rae didn’t get it. Wasn’t every club a sex club when one got down to it? People met. They hooked up, sometimes right there for everyone to see. Rae was no stranger to the pedestrian nightclubs around LA. Even on LGBT night, she was likely to turn a corner and see a couple going at it outside of the bathrooms.

Her girlfriend had detested it. One of many reasons they finally split.

Rae hadn’t dated anyone since then, although there hadn’t been a huge amount of love loss. The relationship was over before it was official. Except now, whenever she came to Hellfire to make sure nobody messed with Tallulah, she realized she spent a lot more time watching what other people were doing. Imagine that. Being paid to watch people have drunken sex or spank each other on whatever those… things… were.

Imagine being paid to watch your boss do those things.

No, Rae didn’t often see Tallulah, America’s favorite good girl hopping on someone’s lap or smashing her face between their legs. Not often. Tallulah liked getting naked in front of people, but she preferred taking her dates and girlfriends into a private room. At that point, Rae’s only job was to stay within earshot outside the door. Sometimes a little too close. She had to be close enough to hear Tallulah possibly calling for help if a date went sour. Yet that meant having to hear other things over the past year. At first, Rae had told her ex-girlfriend about it in confidence. What? Was I supposed to keep it completely to myself? Listening to my hot boss have all that kinky lesbian sex in the other room while I stand there like a robot? After a while, however, the ex made it clear she didn’t want to hear about it.

Another strike.

“Hey, cutie.” While Tallulah sat near the piano with her friends and shook hands with new acquaintances, a short woman with a high-pitched voice and her bosom spilling out of her tube dress approached Rae. “Who are you with tonight? Or are you a free agent?”

A thick tongue rolled over thicker lips. What, does she think I have? A lollipop? “Sorry, ma’am. I’m working tonight.”

“Ooh! A working girl? I love how open you are about that.” Someone played a jaunty tune on the piano, the stark notes overpowering the soulful music from the speakers.
