Chapter Seven
Angelo unpacked his belongings, putting everything back in its place. He even unpacked the donation box. He was going to need his dishes and other essentials. It still made him feel like he’d been kicked to the curb, but at least he and Bishop were trying to make things work.
He had to give his mate credit. Bishop was trying really hard. He didn’t even freak out when they walked back into the kitchen to see the mess they’d created. Angelo had helped him clean up then headed home.
“I only have one more,” Parker commented as he came through the door with a box in his arms of things that he was moving in. That was the fifth box he’d brought in. Just how much stuff did the guy own?
“I need to get to work. Will you be all right getting settled in?” Angelo grabbed an apple from the kitchen counter before heading toward the door. Parker looked like he had plenty to keep him occupied.
“I’m cool. Thanks for all your help, Angelo.”
Angelo waved the man off as he left. He had to get moving if he was going to make it to the Farmer’s Market on time. He was a bit stunned when he came outside to see Bishop standing by his car, waiting with his ankles crossed, a warm smile on his face.
“What are you doing here?” Angelo asked. He hadn’t been expecting the man. Not that he was complaining. Bishop was one hell of a specimen to look at. He still couldn’t believe he’d scored a mate that looked like he belonged on a runway. Too bad he acted like he belonged in a straitjacket some times.
“Wanted to give you a lift.” Bishop walked around the car, opening the passenger door for him. “Anything wrong with me wanting to pamper my mate?”
“Who are you and what did you do with the real Bishop?” Angelo slid inside, wishing he had tossed his apple first. The man’s car was still as squeaky clean as before.
Bishop gave a low chuckle as he slipped in next to Angelo. The man smelled good in the close confines of the car. Whatever he was wearing was making Angelo hard as hell. In his opinion, there was nothing better than a man who smelled wholly masculine.
“I have plans for us tonight.” Bishop pulled from the parking lot and drove down the street. “Wear something nice, babe.”
Angelo grinned like a goof as he glanced over at Bishop. “Where are you taking me?”
“It’s a surprise. I’ll pick you up after work and drop you off so you can get ready.”
Angelo shook his head. “You don’t have to. I can walk.”
“Nonsense.” Bishop turned onto the road that led to the Farmer’s Market. “I’ve got the day to myself and have nothing to do.”
Things were going a little too well. Angelo was waiting for the other shoe to drop. He still hadn’t figured his mate out yet. The guy acted like he wanted Angelo, but he had run from him.
