John Henry climbed cautiously from his Jeep and waited for Robby to pull up behind him. He was debating on a plan of attack when the front door opened and Charlie walked out. The man stopped by one of the white pillars on the front porch and leaned against it, his arms crossed over his chest as if he were just waiting.

John Henry blew out a deep breath and started for the porch. “Is this a bad time, Charlie? It looks like you got company.

Charlie smiled. “No, this is a perfect time,” he said as he walked down the steps and met John Henry at the bottom of the steps.

John Henry couldn’t read Charlie’s expression, so he was totally unprepared when Charlie suddenly reached for him and pulled him into a toe-curling, lip-searing, stomp-your-foot-into-the-ground kiss that seemed to go on and on.

By the time Charlie pulled away, John Henry’s cock was on the edge of exploding in his pants and he couldn’t string two thoughts together. “Charlie,” he panted softly.

“Thank you, John Henry.”

“You’re welcome,” John Henry answered automatically, and then he frowned as some of his brain stopped melting into his feet and the man’s words started to make sense. “Thank you for what?”

“Saving my family.”

Charlie just grinned and grabbed his hand, starting to tug John Henry up the stairs. “Come inside. I have some people I want you to meet.”

John Henry was totally confused until he stepped inside the house and saw several people standing around. Two of them he recognized.

John Henry nodded toward Wren and Manny. It was the other two people that he didn’t know.

“John Henry, these are Lizzie’s parents, George and Jane Davis.

George, Jane, this is Sheriff John Henry Harrison, the man I was telling you about.”
