Behavioral characteristics of players who are common with an inertness, emotional resilience, resistance and constriction are slow warming-up, retarded alteration of perception and program of actions in case of rapid alternation of situation, yet together with a resistance to any external impacts and consistency.
Considering such personal characteristics, the most optimal operating style of these players suggests they should: – develop the tactics of preventive actions for a possible change of scenery;
– discover slightest primary symptoms of a situation change;
– begin the period of warming-up long before the game.
We may mark several elements, important for developing an individual operating style and suiting them well, in the psychophysical self-adjustment of goalkeepers, characterized by inertness, emotional resilience, resistance and constriction.
1. To bolster self-confidence it is recommended to study thoroughly such game situations, where sluggish or tardily performed actions do not allow to achieve the desired efficiency. Such situations should be imagined with a proper resolving.
2. It is important to combine the mental enunciating of situations with a proper resolving with an inner speech, during which a person gives himself detailed mindsets how to act properly.
3. An inner monologue with encouraging mindsets may be employed with an aim to bolster own activation for performing training tasks, especially individual, for example: «Go, go!», «This day is mine!», «This time I'm gonna make everything alright».
4. Entering the familiar optimal mental state directly before going into the game is furthered with a short ritual appeal to oneself in the form of one or two so-called keywords, for example: «Move it!», «Come on!». It makes a kind of signal for players that, although game actions haven't begun yet, the game in the broadest sense has begun.
5. Regarding skills of the attention regulation it has to be noted that it's important to improve abilities to concentrate not generally here and now, but on certain objects.
6. During the ideomotor training it is desirable for goalkeepers to imagine own various technical and tactical actions, differing not only in the structure of movements, but also in the quickness of performance and demonstrated efforts.
7. In the context of the psychophysical self-adjustment it is necessary for goalkeepers, characterized by inertness, emotional resilience, resistance and constriction, to demonstrate the mental flexibility, quickness of response, attention, emotional excitement in trainings in variatively evolving situations too.
Summarizing the data set forth above, it is necessary to mention the following.
Presented variants of the psychophysical self-adjustment are exemplary schemes for practical work. Basically it may be so that techniques of a mental regulation, recommended for players of a certain cohort, may suit sportsmen which have every reason to refer themselves to another cohort in the context of typological personality traits.
In this regard the targeting and the method of the psychophysical self-adjustment of goalkeepers should be thoroughly personalized.
