Exhausted from the signing, I looked forward to two hours of relaxation time in my suite before I had to report to hair and makeup for tonight’s live stream. We’d been given the “all clear” signal from Chip and were making our way through the hotel lobby when I saw the girl again. This time she was in plain view and standing perfectly still next to a large potted plant. Her eyes were fixed on me, and she had the same creepy smile on her face as before.

“Train,” I said, pulling on the arm of his jacket. “There she is. The girl I kept seeing earlier.” But as soon as he turned to look, she ducked behind the plant.

“Where? I don’t see anyone,” Train said.

“There! Behind the plant,” I cried.

Chip signaled one of his team, who bolted across the lobby to where she was standing.

“There’s no one here,” he replied.

“Let’s get you up to your room,” Train said.

“I’m not crazy. There’s a girl. She’s around twelve or thirteen years old, she’s got stringy blonde hair, and she’s wearing one of my t-shirts.”

“We’ll keep an eye out for her, but that description fits seventy-five percent of the people here today,” Chip said.

“I’m not leaving your side until we know what the fuck is going on,” Train said. “To hell with what people say.”

I nodded and Train took me up to my suite.
