"Hey." Violet dropped into the chair beside me when the guys went to stand at the window to admire the planes. "It's like they never grow up, isn't it?"

I watched as Asher and Landon talked enthusiastically about some kind of aircraft. They all looked the same to me. Two wings, engines and windows. As long as they could fly, I didn't really care.

Zeke stood near them, looking about as interested as I was. Tully was deep in conversation with Penn, who looked exhausted.

I surprised myself by how scared I was for the keyboardist, but he made up for it with his tongue on my clit. He knew how to play me perfectly there too.

I laughed softly. "I guess it is. From what I've heard, growing up is overrated anyway."

"That's funny, I've heard the same thing." She sat back and crossed her legs. "How is it that we're on the same tour, but I hardly get a chance to talk to you? I've been meaning to see how you were after what happened in Perth. That shit got crazy, didn't it?"

"That's one word for it," I agreed. An understatement, but it didn't matter what you called it. We were lucky to get out of it in one piece.

"I'm okay, but thanks for asking." I gave her a quick hug. Honestly, I’d been meaning to check up on her too, but between the guys and work, I’d been too busy and distracted.

"Thank goodness things settled down after that." She pulled out a block of chocolate from her bag and opened it before offering some to me.

I broke off a row and took a bite out of it. "Thank you. Settled down, yeah."

I resisted the impulse to look over at Penn. Things had settled until today. For half a moment, I thought maybe all the shit would leave us alone. Forever would be good.

I should have known they wouldn't, but no one saw what the twins did coming. Of course not, who would guess someone would do something so horrible, much less anticipate it? What’s the expression? ‘You can’t make this shit up.’

"Just between you and me, I'm really looking forward to the European leg." She bit into her own row of chocolate. "I like that we get to travel in tour buses and cars instead of flying everywhere. And the scenery is just gorgeous.” She drew the word out. “It's one of my favourite parts of the world."

"Mine too," I said. "Although, we’ll see most of that out the bus window."

People thought touring was glamorous, but it was mostly a blur of locations and faces, and working. Not so much sightseeing and going to parties.

I wouldn't change it for anything.

"True, but looking out the window is pretty awesome," she said. "And meeting new people. I'm always up for doing that." She glanced around. "I've heard you're getting along well with all of the guys these days."

"Are you asking for gossip?" I teased.

She gave me a cagey look. "Maybe just a little bit.” She held two fingers half a centimetre apart.
