Sewing the Lining

Note: Use a ½″ seam allowance.

1. Repeat Steps 1–3 under Sewing the Outer Bag with the lining fabric, but on the last corner, leave a 4″ opening in the middle of the seam. Make sure to backstitch at the beginning and end of this opening. This opening will be used for turning the bag right side out.

2. Iron the last seam open to make a nice and easy hand-stitch seam guide.

Sewing the Handles

1. With right sides together, fold the first handle in half lengthwise; press. Sew along the long raw edge.

2. Turn the handle right side out, press, and topstitch with a ⅛″ seam allowance down the length of each side.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the second handle.
