July 4th

It’s over – my presidency, my popularity, all of it – all because I took off the dumb bag.

I woke up this morning and my head didn’t itch anymore. It was such a relief. I wasn’t sure whether or not I should take my paper bag off and take a look, I mean, what if somebody saw me and didn’t want me to be President anymore? But I figured, what was I going to do? Walk around with a paper bag on my head for the rest of my life? I had to give it a chance, so I took it off. It felt so good, feeling the air on my face again. It felt so good until it didn’t. One of my fellow campers saw me without my paper bag and any popularity or wisdom he had seen in me disappeared. I guess it couldn’t last forever, though I kind of wish it had. At least I get to go home soon. I hate being that nobody who used to be a somebody. It’s the only thing worse than being a nobody. At least before, when I was a nobody, I didn’t know what it felt like to be a somebody. Good grief!
