Zeke
Pax was crying, and I couldn't get him to talk to me. When he finally pointed toward the bathroom door and begged me to give him some privacy, I reluctantly left the room. I struggled for a moment as I stared at my phone, wondering who I could call for advice.
Papa P and the bossman had gone to bed, Ezra would give me shit, Ma had already been blowing up my phone with questions about my new mate, and I wasn't sure if Pax would want me to involve Noah or Levi.
Ah. David. Pax couldn't get mad at me for calling my own brother, and I really needed somebody to talk me through this one.
David picked up on the second ring. "What do you want, dickhead? Don't tell me that you scared your unique little mate away already. I mean, he seemed pretty fearless to me. Hell, he could probably kick your ass if he wanted. Not that he'd need to, since he apparently knows how to disarm you before you can blink from what Boomer says."
"Are you quite finished? Shit, Davey. What if I'd been Pax calling you from this phone? Fuck, man. You should make sure you know who’s on the other end before you flap your yap."

"Look, we both know that you have every right to fuck with me. But right now I just need you to be my brother and talk me through something. So maybe we could put a pin on the teasing for the moment?"
Davey sounded more serious when he spoke again. "I'm sorry, Zekey. I should have known that if you were calling me on your first night having Pax at your house it was probably important. Is something wrong?"
"Yeah, and I don't know what to do. Pax was throwing up, and I don't mean a little bit either. It was a fucking like a full-on exorcist-style moment up in that bathroom. Now he's curled up over the toilet crying his eyes out and he won't let me help him. Should I call a doctor? A priest? What do I do?"
“Go put on a pot of tea. You should still have some of either the mint or chamomile that I like in the cabinet over your stove. Boomer and I will be there in ten minutes."
I started to argue, but the line had already gone dead. I huffed out a
