Once you learn something it can’t be taken away. That’s kind of the whole theme of this book: learn as much as you can and it will save you money and allow you to live a more self-sufficient lifestyle.

You can start with teaching youngsters the use BB guns (“you’ll shoot your eye out kid!”) or pellet guns. The newer, soft air guns are also another way to start out younger kids. They can learn how to properly and safely handle a gun with a less fatal weapon. Remember, if it shoots a projectile, it can hurt or severely injure someone. Hearing protection is a must for firearms and eye protection (approved style shooter’s glasses) are necessary for anyone shooting or observing. If you have enough land you may be able to build your own shooting range (relatively easy and inexpensive) for the ability to use it anytime you want.
