The auto focus

Here comes another generality, because it all depends on the manufacturer and the model. But in this sense, DSLR cameras usually have a faster autofocus on photography. And as for the video, the one that works best is the Dual Pixel focus of Canon.

So if for example you want to use it primarily for social photography, you're probably more interested in a DSLR. And if you're going to do videos for Youtube and you need to record yourself, too.

Battery life

The electronic viewfinder system of mirrorless cameras generally consumes more battery than a DSLR. Keep in mind that everything is electronic in this camera: both the viewfinder and the shutter. But here again you have to consider each model. Because the Panasonic GH5 has a battery life very similar to that of a DSLR, and even greater,unless we record in 4k and in the most professional formats.

Variety of lenses

This is another section where the DSLR cameras have an advantage. The reason is simple: they take a lot more time on the market. So if you want to use DSLR camera lenses in a mirrorless, you'll probably have to buy an adapter. And a good one can get to cost as much as a DSLR camera.

But if you want to do video and you're going to use manual focus, it honestly doesn't matter that much. I use targets of all kinds of mounts with adapters, and they go perfectly in either of the two cameras.

4k video

If you want 4k video, chances are you have to opt for amirrorless. To have 4k in a Canon SLR, for example, you haveto go to the professional models.

Price

Reflexes are generally more economical. But as always, itdepends on the model.
