The Mawangdui silk, discovered in an ancient tomb uncovered at Changsha in south-central China, with a “catalogue” of comets compiled sometime around 300 BCE, but the knowledge it encompasses is believed to date as far back as 1500 BCE, that is, 3,500 years ago.

Skeletons with comet. Probably related with the passage of Halley in 1607. Comets were often associated with destruction and death.
