For these irresistible nachos, only one pan is needed, and they can be made on a grill, stovetop, or even over just a campfire!

Cooking time: 16 to 18 minutes

EQUIPMENT

Skillet

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. ground beef

Jalapeno pepper; sliced

Green onions; a single bunch; thinly sliced, green and white parts

1 bag Tortilla chips

2 c. cheddar cheese; shredded

2 c. iceberg lettuce; chopped

1 chopped tomato

Taco or salsa sauce for dipping or drizzling

DIRECTIONS

Cook ground beef in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat (using a grill, campfire, or stovetop) until it is no longer pink. Build a hole and apply the jalapeños and green onions to the middle of the beef. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently. Transfer your mixture to a bowl and use chips to line the bottom of the hot skillet.

Pour the combination of ground beef-green onion generously over the chips. Use cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and taco/salsa sauce for topping. Dig in immediately!

NOTES

These can be dynamic and according to your liking. Swap out the vegetables or substitute a potato chip flavored type with various ones. Be creative! Instead of ground beef, use sausage or chicken for the meat or put avocados and sour cream on top. Try adding a cap over the top to catch the steam until the nachos are layered, which will allow the cheese to melt more easily. Have you got a lid? If not, Use foil!
