It only took them a few minutes to clean each other up and get dressed again, and when they were walking out of the bushes, Mason felt like a teenager again. “I can’t believe we just had sex in public.”

“Not exactly public,” Adam said, and he still had that cute blush that ran up his neck and across his cheeks when he smiled coyly. “But I wouldn’t mind doing it again later,”

Mason had to fight off the urge to groan. “Say things like that and I’ll never get over to the pack,” he said, and they were already among the houses where his alphas and omegas lived, so it wasn’t like they could go back for a second round.

There were four houses, with two more being built to accommodate newcomers and their families.

Conner, the alpha of his own pack, occasionally sent men and women Mason’s way whenever he raided an illegal vampire nest. He explained this to Adam, and he watched as the man’s eyes widened a little. “So you help out with other werewolves in need,” he said.

“Well, yes and no. I don’t go out looking for them like Conner does, but I have more space and resources than he does, so I take in the people he can’t.”

“That’s still very generous of you,” Adam replied.

Now Mason was starting to get a little high at the bit of hero worship he was seeing in his mate’s eyes, and it made him want to take him somewhere private once more so he could properly fuck the man. Again.

Oh, fuck. He was so messed up.

“Mason!”

Mason looked over as Jimmy jogged toward them. He smiled and reached his hand out for his beta to take.

“What took you so long?” he asked, but there was a smile on his face. He barely glanced at Adam, trying not to draw much attention to the man.

Jimmy knew full well what had taken Mason so long. “Things to do, you know how it is.”

“Uh-huh,” Jimmy said, and then he finally gave Adam his attention, holding out his hand. “Hi, Jimmy Torren. I’m Mason’s beta. You might’ve seen me next to Mason trying to talk him out of buying you.”

Christ.

At least it looked as though Adam wasn’t about to take any offense to that. “Good to meet you. I’m Adam Mackenzie, but I guess you already knew that.”

Jimmy nodded. “Okay, since you’re going to be our human recruit to the pack for a while, you might as well meet everyone.”

“Sounds good,” Adam said, and slowly but surely the introductions were made.

Mason wanted his mate to see that just because they were werewolves, it didn’t mean they couldn’t also be civilized. He wanted to show Adam that this was a place he could be comfortable living in for the rest of his life.

Everyone was great. They were polite, and they introduced themselves and explained what they did for their livings. Because Mason was already so wealthy from inheriting his fortune from his parents, along with
