While Jake and Lloyd were checking out the women, the women were checking out Jake and Lloyd. The women were Tania and Sheree and they had been volunteers in the political office for almost four years. Each of them had joined the volunteer group for the same reason.

Tania had volunteered first and a month later so did Sheree. The committee had put out a call for volunteers and about three dozen new members signed up. They were both motivated to get out and try something new.

Tania and Sheree were the only two who remained from that bunch of bright-eyed volunteers. More had joined since and many had left. The goal of each woman was successful. They met each other and found kindred spirits.

They were very similar in numerous ways. Both of them were plus-size women and both of them were shy. However, the joys of having a friend with the same passion for pizza and romantic movies made a difference in each of their lives.

Sheree had been living with her parents but encouraged by Tania’s tranquil lifestyle, Sheree made an effort to find a job and move into her own tiny apartment. She had briefly thought of suggesting that she and Tania get an apartment together but she had heard horror stories about best friends who fell out over the stresses of having a roommate.

The meet and greet event was almost over and as usual, the two friends stayed until the end. They told each other and themselves that it was part of their duties to make sure that everything went smoothly until the event was completely over.

Underlying their interest in volunteering for this political committee was their shared desire to meet a man. Tania had dated briefly but that was a long time ago. Well, it was five years ago but the time was soon going to stretch into six years and then seven and before she knew it she would be living a lonely manless life.

Tania’s decision to join the committee was motivated by her need to move on with her life after her boyfriend broke up with her. She needed to find something to fill her empty days. A couple of times she hooked up with a guy she met through her volunteer work but it never moved beyond being a one-night stand.

When Sheree announced that she planned to move out of her parents’ place, Tania was afraid that her friend would suggest living together. It would be pleasant not to be alone but Tania had dreams and hopes of meeting someone special.

She had joined a dating site and met a couple of men there as well. Only one of them was worthy of a date and they did have a glorious one-night stand. She never told Sheree about her dates.

If Sheree moved in with her or if they got a bigger place and shared it, it could cramp her dating style.
