Aleksandar Žiljak was born in Zagreb, Croatia. He is the author of the short story collection Slijepe ptice (Blind Birds) and is a three-time winner of the Sfera Award for best short story. With Tomislav Šakic he edited Ad Asta, an anthology of Croatian science fiction stories, and the duo currently edit the genre magazine UBIQ.
