He threw the cooler and basket of food, along with his bag, in the

back and hopped into the driver’s seat. “See you this evening,” he

yelled to Kenton as he drove off. “And don’t forget, everything has to

be perfect.”

Kenton nodded and winked.

When Webber reached the bungalow, Tristan was sitting on the

porch in a rocking chair, sipping a beer. Tristan stood, grabbed his bag

and a second beer, and slid in next to him on the small seat. “I hope

that’s for me,” Webber said with a crooked grin.

“Who else would it be for?” Tristan teased as he twisted the top

off and handed it to Webber. “Gotta love a minibar full of cold beer,”

he said with a grin.

Webber happily accepted the long neck, hit the pedal, and began

to maneuver the electric golf cart down the winding path. He slowed

when they reached the water’s edge and pulled the cart right up onto

the dock. He continued down and parked right in between the two

vessels. He and Tristan transferred their cargo to the boat, and Tristan

took everything down below. Webber started the engines and

uncovered all the electronics, turned on the GPS, depth finder,

autopilot, and VHF radio. He checked all the levels on the gauges, and

when he was satisfied that everything was in good working condition,

he went down below in search of Tristan. When he reached the

companionway, Tristan was unloading the contents of the cooler into

the refrigerator. He walked up behind him and wrapped his arms

around Tristan’s waist. “All looks good topside, Tris, you ready to get

this show on the road?”

Tristan nodded as he closed the refrigerator door and turned in

Webber’s arms. “All secure down below, Captain. Did you see the feast

Amani packed for us?”

“No, I didn’t get a chance to look. Is it good?”

Tristan looked up like he was going over a mental checklist in his

head. “For lunch there’s smoked turkey sandwiches, a green salad,

vegetables, chips, hummus, and chocolate cookies. For apps we have

all kinds of cheeses, summer sausage, tapenade, pâté, and a variety of
