After our quickie of thirty minutes, we showered together and then started to get dressed. Patrick was a ball of nerves and excitement as he picked what to wear.
“It doesn’t matter, babe,” I chuckled, throwing him a pair of jeans. “Just pick something or you’re going naked because the one thing we don’t want to do is be late and keep her waiting.”
“Right, right,” he agreed as he yanked on the jeans, forgetting underwear in the process. I was going to tell him, but then I realized that him going commando could be fun for me later so I let it go.
Five minutes later we were downstairs just as Sydney showed up. “Hey, Sydney. I’d like you to meet my mate, Patrick.”
“A pleasure,” she said, staring down at my mate before extending her hand. “I think we’ve met in passing but I’ve never had the chance to talk with you.”
“Yeah, we said hi once at a party but you’re not exactly someone that I could forget,” he replied as he shook his head. Then his eyes went wide when he realized how that might sound. “I–I didn’t—not that—came out—” He started breathing heavy as he let go of her hand. “She’s going to say no because I’m an idiot.”
“What my very nervous mate means is that you’re beautiful,” I quickly told Sydney before Pat passed out. “When I told him you were open to the idea he asked if you were the gorgeous blonde that could tempt a gay man.”
“Is that true?” she asked Pat, her eyes twinkling with mirth.
“Yes, and I said you’d be cool Aunt Sydney who’d always get our baby the coolest presents for their birthday and I think it would be good for them to have another female influence in their lives. There’s so many men here—” he rambled on and on.
“Pat, relax, sweetie,” I said gently as I hugged him tightly. “I know I just sprang this all on you but Sydney’s good people. She won’t say no because you’re nervous.”
“Right, yeah, cool. Umm, I need to sit before I pass out,” Patrick mumbled as he practically shook against me. “This is like life or death, Stefan. Now that we decided we want a baby I’d be heartbroken if I screwed up our chances for that.”
“You want a baby that much?” Sydney asked quietly. I turned to look at her as Patrick did.
“I didn’t realize it until Stefan brought it up, but yeah. I think it’s been building inside of me for a while but I’m gay. The idea of ever having children kinda got pushed out of my mind I think when I realized I’d end up with another man. But now that I know there’s a way? Yeah, I want to have a baby with my mate. He’d be an awesome daddy.”
“So would you, my love,” I told him fondly as I led us to the kitchen. I flinched as I realized there were a bunch of my family there. “Oh crap.
